Parent controlled apps that allow for safe browsing
These days’ apps run the world and we can’t talk about technology without mentioning them. And with the amount of apps being constantly created it’s good to know which are catered to your kids and are safe.
As todays apps are very much interactive. And you don’t want to find your child in a situation where they’re interacting with a stranger online through the app, or even worse making plans to meet up somewhere with the stranger.
Therefore the one thing parents of today will need to be on it about is the safety of online browsing when it comes to their children’s use of apps. As an aware parent is a caring parent.
Here are some kid-friendly apps to review that also provide for safe browsing online for your kids.
YouTube kids
Is particularly useful for little ones whose screen time you want to limit as the app allows you to enable a timer where the app locks once the time is up. And the settings are behind a parents-only lock so your kid can’t change their time limit.
Another great feature of this app is that you can tailor the type of videos that show up for your child depending on their age. You can also turn off the search function for a more controlled experience.
Family Link
This is Google’s latest app and is catered for older kids who are getting their first Android devices.
And according to their blog, Family Link: “Lets you create a Google account for you child, which is like your own account, and also helps you set certain digital ground rules that work for your family. Such as managing the apps your kid can use. All apps downloaded need to be approved by you before downloading keeping an eye on screen time, and setting a bedtime on your kid’s device.”
