- Twitter is a social media platform involving online news and networking that allows individuals to post content and interact with friends via messages (also known as ‘tweets’). Tweets are restricted to 140 characters.

- Twitter can be used by people in order to create a ‘following’ of individuals who are interested in you and what your life revolves around. An example of this could be a scuba diver tweeting about his/her trips to the Maldives
- Celebrities use Twitter in order to connect on a more personal level with their fans. Some famous tweeters Ashton Kutcher and President Obama.
